Unblemished Blue

Half 8 by the coast of the Celtic Sea, the sky an astonishing unblemished blue, only a contrail marking it, headed east, a jackdaw lifting off the back wall with a stick for a prize, a pair of collared doves courting on a lawn chair, the coffee tart and sweet, and it’s Monday.
